Home entrances and side doors
Make a list of the entrances included in a key change. A front deadbolt, keyed handle and side door may each involve a separate cylinder. Explain whether you want one compatible key across the home or separate access for different doors.
Privately rented and campus-managed housing
For a rental, check permission with the property manager before changing locks. Campus-managed housing may have its own access process; contact the housing administrator. Do not assume a private service request authorizes work on a common or institution-controlled door.
A vehicle near your destination
If the car is parked in a lot, identify the lot and where the vehicle sits. Include the year, make and model, whether a working key is available and whether the keys are inside. Ask about support for that exact vehicle before arranging replacement-key work.
