A move-in key plan
When moving into a home, count the keyed cylinders on the main entrance, rear door and any separate access you control. Discuss which should operate on one key and which should remain separate. If the locks are in suitable condition, rekeying may meet the access goal without changing the entire door assembly.
Shared entries and separate units
Explain whether the locked door leads directly into your home or into a shared hall. For a basement or rear unit, identify the actual route to the door. Contact the owner or manager about shared hardware before arranging a change that could affect other occupants.
A parked car is its own location
If you walked from your vehicle to a market, station or business, use the parked location when requesting automotive help. Tell us if the vehicle is in a controlled lot and whether an operator must permit access. Availability and timing are confirmed for the actual location.
